They are heavy duty, reinforced concrete slabs which act as a platform to cover the EHV joint bay as well as to provide a base for any backfill work prior to finishing. The number of requiured cover slabs per jointbay depends on the cable voltage and the jointbay size. Jointbay cover slabs are casted with two galvnized steel hooks for easy transportation and installation at site.
